It is Thanksgiving week, and I have much to be thankful for — my interesting, challenging, and fascinating family, for starters! I love my girls, my husband, my pets…and I love my projects. I’ve been able to spend some quality time with my family in Florida for a few days, but I’m now back to work, as I have lots to do.
Artful Interiors has been moving forward with our Milton Project. This month we’ve met with contractors, kitchen and bath folks, visited the Atlanta Mart for rugs, and local fabric sources for inspiration.
The first part of any project is my favorite. It is the most intensely creative for me — it is “full throttle-all pedals in acceleration position-at the starting gate” for me in terms of creativity. This lovely home in Milton, Georgia provides the ideal setting for me as my clients and I start to create their dream environment!
Here are some photos of more of our “before”. As you will see, it has great “bones”. The stone and live edge mantle in the Family room serves me well in my inspirational, jumping off position. “Racers…start your engines!”
Image 2: Family Room looking back toward kitchen, breakfast room, and into the dining area. A bit “warm” for my client’s taste. We’re working on lightening the spaces, without compromising the integrity of the beautiful wood and stone “bones of the hardscape”.
Image 3: “Before” dining room. A little too dark, could use some shiplap, perhaps?
